Wanna come on TV? U don’t hv to do ne thing but search for a news channel reporter in their heavily equipped vehicle n thn do some sort of tandav in front of them. That’s it!!! Then just ask ne of ur friend or relative to tune into tht news channel & u vl b featured their as BREAKING NEWS……..

Yes BREAKING NEWS!!! This is the phrase actually used to highlight some very imp news to be given high priority. For eg: Prime Minister successfully convinced left for the nuclear deal. But these days these so called the best Indian news channels (c the never ending list of news channels below)hv made it so common tht it has lost it value.

Yes look at the following list. These r some of the news tht is featured as breaking news…

· Saif aur Kareena saath mein deekhe ek party mein

· Smriti fir se banegi tulsi

· Sachin ho gaye beemar

· Dhoni ne kataye apne baal

· Sania par ek aur case.

· Shilpa Shetty wore a diamond ring.

· Bla bla bla bla

Give me a break!!!

Not only this. Lets say der is some breakin news…now tune into the same channel after lets say 4 hrs…n u vl c the same news as breaking news again…wow!!!

Every news channel claims tht they r the best. I suggest u all 1 thing. Just count how many news channels are actually there?? I vl giv u a list:

· Aaj Tak (This “red” hot channel is really very tez. Till date I never understood what exactly they wanna convey thru a news report)

· Star News (they r the biggest fans of ekta aunty. If u hv missed ne of the episodes of ne of her serials just tune into this channel)

· Zee news (Don’t watch this channel alone. I guess this is one of the scariest channels instead of a news channel. The content they show r really horrifyin. Just observe it.)

· India TV (Ahh!! I sometime pity on Shakti kapoor)

· News 24 (the newbie)

· Ndtv hindi (better channel amongst the hindis)

· Headlines today (most passionate fans of cricket. U vl be updated even abt the apparels the cricketers r wearing)

· NDTV 24X7 (this is by far the most sensible channels)

· Thn der r innumerable profit cum business channels.

We cant njoy a movie without a background score. But now news channels r using this tactics in the most effective (or stupidest) way to attract ur eardrums. Every news may it be ne thing vl surely b accompanied by a background score n its so loud it actually subdues the voice of the reporter who reports.

Those multiple scrollin news bars at the bottom of the screen give us 1 more reason to get amazed. So we have 3 different news at the same time…I wonder v cud answer our papers like this.

Then v hv shows on everythin u can think of. Most significant of them are excerpts from the reality shows tht r aired on ne of the damn channels like laughter competition etc.

I think in the next couple of yrs v vl hv specific news channels like “ekta tv”, “cricket 24 X 7” n on ne thing u can ever imagine.

Note: I am sure u all wud hv encountered many of such breaking news…pls post them so tht others cud hold der bellies in laughter.

Chaka chak Mumbai

"Chaka chak Mumbai"!!! Yes this is the new clean-up drive by the BMC administration. The people deployed for the clean-up drive catch hold of those people who litter & spit & make the environment un-hygienic for people like you & me & force them to pay fine or ask them to clean the mess. This is a very good initiative by the BMC to make the city clean. But is this drive effective? Lets c...

You go to railway station, you go to bus stop, you will find many mouth-filled creatures who are under intense stress to squeeze their mouth and spit out whatever they have produced in their mouth. And people like me sway here & there so as to avoid that mouth-produced blood-red substance to make their identity on our shirts or whatever. Imagine you are going for dating & you get such identity on your shirt :(. I can’t even imagine. Get into your building and you will find all the corners of your building painted red irrespective of the external paint of your building.

Take a Virar local or any local for that matter. You might have somehow managed to get in & stand between those seats near the window. You may feel "Ahh! I couldn’t have dreamt of more comfortable journey than this". Only to find that there is someone who has just popped-out his head between your hand(that has formed a loop with your wrist on your hips) to spit out his PAAN-matter. Imagine people spitting out from the window of the metro trains when they are ready.

There have been many awareness programs but all in vain in fact the situation is getting worst. This is the predicament now. No station, no roads are clean. SO if you consider this then the clean-up drive is a good move & will help keep the city clean. Paying fine is affordable but facing the public embarrassment is really mortifying. These may deter those spitters. And I can bet, these spitters can win any competition in the world for spitting, forget that in Titanic where Leo teaches his heroine to spit a long distance. Our spitters can spit long & dense & in huge volume.

But such drives can be effective only if these spitters co-operate. At the first place, shut those PAAN-BIDI shop, but this will be a sequel to Mission Impossible. But if you introspect, these shops, i feel, are the main reason why the city is been dominated by the burgeoning no of spitters. Hey spitters there are many other competitions to participate in.

Mumbai - City of dreams OR City of chaos

While walking along the streets of this great city, sometimes I wonder is this a city what they called “city of dreams”??? I feel it is fast turning to “city of chaos”.

Mumbai – One of the mega cities of the world. Every year thousands of people come to this city which is perceived as city to pursue their dreams. People from far and wide visit this so-called-heaven not only for employment and education but also for vacation. Being a mega city, it attracts many tourists every year. One of the main attractions is Bollywood.

But the question is, “Is this city prepared to handle such a vast population?” The answer unfortunately may be no. Behind these glitz n glitters, lies the harsh reality of slums, poverty, poor infrastructure, corrupt officials, and the most importantly negligence from our side.

As the population is increasing at an alarming rate, the city is under tremendous pressure. It does not have enough space to accommodate the ever increasing population. So the slum population is increasing. According to World Bank 54% of the population resides in slums. There are numerous urban projects that are already started, that are ready to kick off. World Bank has already approved loan of around 2500 crores rupees. But all the projects are progressing at snails pace. Best example is the Borivali-Virar line quadrupling project. It took more than a decade to complete the project. The Bandra-Worli Sea Link project is almost stalled at the half way mark. There are hundreds of kms of roads that are still to be concretized. Many flyovers still to be completed. Most of the projects are running way beyond the deadline. Now can anyone answer the question “Is this one of the fastest growing mega city?” Perhaps no-one.

Construction industry is at the boom. Towers n sky scrappers are constructed at every corner of the city. Mangroves are shaved off from most part of the city. The drainage system is still to be updated. Every rainy season floods this city.

Its high time now, I hope that the officials wake up and stop daydreaming, instead start executing right away.

This is my first ever attempt...i m not a gr8 writer...so just condone my mistakes...suggestions are welcome...thts it...njoy blogging
